What is the CBUSU Food Bank?
A food bank is a non-profit organization that acquires & distributes food to individual CBU students and their families who are struggling with food insecurity. Our foodbank receives support through donations and food drives. We support those students who are in need.

For those students requiring additional and or specific assistance, please email su_vpfo@cbu.ca. The CBU Students' Union cannot guarantee additional assistance, but each will be reviewed on a case-by-case scenario. We assume no responsibility for dietary restrictions or allergies.
Food Bank Operations
• Food Bank Applications are only accepted on our Operating Days. (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday)
• Only the first 60 eligible students will receive a pickup date. Please allow us two working days for a reply.
• Students who are NOT amongst the first 60 eligible applications will receive a “Reapply Notice” informing them that they must apply again on our next operating day to be considered for food bank assistance.
• Students may have up to 7 days following their scheduled appointment to pick up their grocery package.
• Grocery packages that have NOT been picked up before 7 days will be redistributed to other student's in need. You will be required to wait 14 days from your pick-up date to apply again.
What are the Rules of the Food Bank?
• Must be a Current CBU student
• Your Student I.D. is to be presented by you, whom the food bank appointment is for. Friend pick-ups are NOT permitted.
• You may only visit the food bank once every 14 days (bi-weekly), exempt from emergencies.
• CBUSU Food Bank is NOT a free grocery store, any student who uses it for that reason will be reprimanded.
• CBUSU Food Bank assumes no responsibility for dietary restrictions or allergies.
• Information about your situation may be asked such as income, housing, and members of your household.
• Food Bank hours are subject to change based on staff schedules and operational needs.
• Grocery packages are subject to change from applicant to applicant as donations and inventory varies.
• Food Bank staff may not be able to fulfill additional item requests or exchanges based on current inventory of high demand items. Please respect the decision of Food Bank staff.
• Aggressive, abusive and disrespectful behavior towards Student Union members, staff and volunteers will NOT be tolerated and may involve suspension from Food Bank Services and possible reporting to CBU Security
