Two scholarships per year to be offered based on March 16 amendment
Criteria: Granted annually to out of province entering full time direct from high school, based on highest scholastic average

6 - $1000 Bursaries
CBUSU Family Bursary: To a student registered in any program and carrying a full course load, must be supporting a child under 19 and demonstrate financial need. Value - $1500.
CBUSU Community Involvement Bursary: Students registered in any program, full course load, financial need, demonstrate involvement in their community. Value $1300.
CBUSU Arts & Social Sciences Bursary: A student in the second year of their program or higher, with preference given to students in their final year, registered in the School of Arts & Social Sciences, and carrying a full course load, demonstrate financial need. Value $1300.
CBUSU Education & Health Bursary: A student in the second year of their program or higher, with preference given to students in their final year, registered in the School of Education & Health and carrying a full course load, demonstrate financial need. Value $1300.
CBUSU Science & Technology Bursary: A student in the second year of their program or higher, with preference given to students in their final year, registered in the School of Science & Technology and carrying a full course load, demonstrate financial need. Value $1300.
CBUSU School of Business Bursary: A student in the second year of their program or higher, with preference given to students in their final year, registered in the Shannon School of Business and carrying a full course load, demonstrates financial need. Value $1300.
CBUSU Tapiwa Gate Memorial award
Value $500 award.
Graduation award.
Presented annually to an international student in memory of Tapiwa Gate from Zimbabwe, who was a BBA student at CBU. Tapiwa lost his life at the young age of 22 and although he was only here with us for a short time, his impact on CBU was immense. This award is presented to express appreciation for the recipient’s contributions to the Cape Breton University community through student life activities, leadership, and engagement of fellow international students.

CBUSU Employee/Volunteer award: $500 award chosen by CBUSU for an employee/ volunteer each year at graduation.
Warren Gordon Photographic Award
Graduation award valued at $500
Criteria:
A graduating student who has made a major contribution to student life at CBU.
