Nominations for candidates in the 2025 General Election open Tuesday, January 21st at 9am and close on Thursday, January 30th at 4pm.

President & Executive Vice President

The CBU Students’ Union is seeking nominations for the positions of President and Executive Vice President for the 2025-2026 academic year.

Any current students interested in running for the slate/team of President and Executive Vice President are asked to contact Finlay Nearing, CRO at su_cro@cbu.ca to get instructions on the nomination process, or stop by the Students’ Union administration desk to pick up a nomination form. Both students in a slate must be present to obtain a form, and presentation of student ID cards will be required. Students must also ensure they meet the eligibility criteria to run.

Eligibility:

• All candidates must be current CBU students.

• Anyone interested in running must plan to be enrolled in 9 credits per semester for the upcoming year (fall 2025 and winter 2026) to be eligible to run for a position.

• December 2025 graduates won’t be considered.

• All candidates are required to have no breaches of Academic Integrity or the CBU Student Code of Conduct to be eligible to run in any CBU Students’ Union election.

The deadline to submit completed nominations is Thursday, January 30th, 2025 no later than 4 p.m.

Students’ Representative Council (SRC)

The Students’ Union is seeking nominations for student councillors to fill the following seats on the Students’ Representative Counsil (SRC) for the 2025-2026 academic year.

Arts & Social Sciences (2 seats)

Shannon School of Business- Undergrad Rep (1 seat)

Shannon School of Business- Post Baccalaureate Rep (1 seat)

School of Education & Health (2 seats)

School of Nursing (2 seats)

School of Science & Technology (2 seats)

International Student Representative (1 seat)

Domestic Student Representative (1 seat)

2SLGBTQAI+ Representative (1 seat)

Senior Representative of Undergrad Students (1 seat)

Off-Campus Representative (1 seat)

Residence Representative (1 seat)

Athletic Representative (Varsity or Club Sports) (1 seat)

Students are required to obtain their nomination form in-person and must present their student ID card upon pickup. All candidates must be students up until April of 2026 to be eligible.
